According to Ruth Marsh’s 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, she is anything but cruel.
That fact didn’t matter when Ruth selected a costume for the birthday parade to celebrate her 101st birthday. Ruth, who adores Dalmatians, dressed up as none other than Disney villain Cruella Deville for a very special 101 Dalmatians-themed parade thrown by her family and friends.
Ruth has lived in Wisconsin her whole life, raising her 4 kids in Stoughton near Lake Kegonsa. She is known for throwing an annual parade on the 4th of July, and she also enjoys treasure hunts and playing cards. On the day she turned 101, it only seemed fitting to go with a 101 Dalmatians theme for this dog loving great-grandma!
Ruth’s entire family dressed up as Dalmatians for the event, but the birthday girl took the lead in a Cruella costume with a black-and-white wig and long, faux cigarette. She even got into character by pretending to puff on the cigarette from time to time. The best part? Her family even got a real Dalmatian to attend the party!
“Happy 101, grandma! We love you!”Ruth’s family called out before breaking into oh-so-authentic barking and howling. This family really commits to a theme, and we love it!
Ruth rode in a white car as her family and members of the community passed by to say hello and wish her a happy birthday. You can see from the smile on her face that she had the time of her life.
What a fun and creative way to celebrate a life well lived! One hundred-and-one years is a long time, and it seems that this great-grandma is still going strong and having a wonderful time making memories with her loved ones.
