When parents go on vacation, its sometimes hard for kids to cope. They don’t have too much experience with not having mom and dad around, and missing them is almost overwhelming. But this doesn’t just apply to kids. Dogs feel that same way.
While hanging out at home with Burt, the black labrador retriever, a little toddler named Jack noticed that his friend was very somber because he didn’t understand where his owner had gone. As Burt sat by the front widow, anxiously looking in every direction, he couldn’t cloak how much he longed to see his family… but at least he had Jack by his side, ready with a comforting hand.
In a sweet gesture, Jack softly walked beside the pup and started telling sweet and comforting things. But even more endearing was when his arm around Burt. He softly petted him and made sure every few seconds that he was okay.
Though he still couldn’t take his eyes off of the front yard, Burt’s movements became slower and more relaxed. Jack’s loving embrace helped during his canine pal’s time of heartache.
It’s a moment for the ages.
It’s small things like this that show so much love. Acts of kindness go further than we know.
