Shelley Weingarden recently shared a video on Facebook documenting one such surprise. The clip shows her nephew Evan receiving a birthday gift that is so uniquely him – and today, the boy’s reaction is warming hearts across the internet!

Evan is autistic, and he has a real love of curly hair. In fact, Evan loves curly hair so much that he has invented his own word for people with beautiful curls: “beatsie.” He also calls girls with beautiful curls “Beatsieannas.”

Knowing about Evan’s fondness for curls, his parents arranged for a bunch of their curly-haired friends (and one in the back who’s wearing something that looks suspiciously like a wig) to surprise Evan on his 12th birthday.

“You’re all beatsiannas!” Evan exclaims once he figures out the commonality among them. Then he can’t wait to invite them all in to play with him.

“My nephew Evan turned 12 the other day,” Shelley explained. “He is on the Autism Spectrum. He loves curly hair. My sister surprised him with a garage full of people with curly hair. This is Evan’s reaction. He keeps saying the word beatsie which is a word he made up for curls but it also means beautiful curls according to Evan and Beatsieanna is a girl with beautiful curls. His reaction is priceless!!”
