21-Yr-Old’s Emotional Audition Gets All 4 “Voice” Judges Fighting Over Him.

Growing up, Zae Romeo often felt inadequate and forgotten.

He and his three siblings were in the Texas foster care system until Zae was 6 years old. That’s when all four of them were adopted by a loving family! The now 21-year-old teaches music to kids while he launches his career as a singer.

In March 2021, his pursuit of stardom got a huge boost when he auditioned for “The Voice.” The McKinney, Texas, native took to the stage to perform “Falling,” originally recorded by Harry Styles.

His sound is unique, and a few moments into his song, we could tell that all of the judges were feeling it.

One by one, starting with Kelly Clarkson, the celebrity coaches turned their chairs around to indicate their desire to work with Zae throughout the competition! By the time he finished, he’d earned the coveted four-chair turn that all contestants dream of.

“This is why we do the show, to work with special people like you who have a real beautiful gift and artistic flair,” judge John Legend said. Nick Jonas agreed: “The performance was phenomenal and it touched me.”

Even though the judges playfully debated over who should have the honor of training Zae, the contestant had already made up his mind. Jonas got the job!

“He really spoke to me and I’ve just been a fan of Nick, like, since the beginning,” Zae said. As for the coach himself, he later said he couldn’t be happier about adding Zae to his team. He hopes this will finally be the year that one of his artists wins the show for the first time.

“My team is taking shape in the most incredible way because I couldn’t have planned all these different voices and genres we’re tapping into,” Jonas said. “It was really nice to get this four-chair turn.”

Clarkson warned the other judges that Jonas is “showing up this season,” and we have to agree! We can’t wait to see if Zae is the singer who helps Jonas win his first season. We’ll be watching!
