Kindhearted Citizen Approaches Mourning Cop On Street, Camera Captures Tear-Filled Words Of Comfort And Sign Of Solidarity.

Woman and cop hugging in Iowa

Two weeks ago, Police officers in Urbandale, Iowa were forced to ask Scott Greene, 46, to leave a high school football game. The man was seen waving a confederate flag at the game, taunting people of color. As officers ushered Greene from the stadium, the irate man insisted they were ‘trampling’ on his 1st amendment rights and continued his display on public sidewalks surrounding the school.

Greene was no stranger to law enforcement in the small town. Officers had to get involved in several domestic disputes involving Greene, though he was considered no real threat. All of that changed around 1 am on the night of November 2nd.

With no obvious provocation, Greene gunned down two unsuspecting police officers while sitting in their patrol cars. Officer Justin Martin and police Sergeant Anthony “Tony” Beminio, both family men, lost their lives that night.

As news of the shootings spread people reacted in different ways. One woman rushed to an Urbandale police officer who was standing along a street and handed him bottled water and other supplies.

“I want you to go home to your families, because I want my dad to come home to me and I want my friends to come home to me, and I’m sorry,” she said.

Afterwards she tearfully gave him a hug and promised to pray for his brothers in blue. Neither one could hold back tears.

The emotional scene was caught on camera as seen in the video below.
