Whether you’re hanging out with friends or enjoying some alone time in public, the last thing anyone wants is to have a complete stranger refuse to leave you alone. This can be all-the-more scary for us women who, sadly, are frequently harassed by men in these situations. This is what happened to Olivia Lutfallah and her friend while at the beach. Here, a creepy man, who was clearly drunk, began to bother them.

For three whole minutes, they did their best to kindly get him to leave. Still, there was nothing they could say that would make him leave. Finally, Olivia began to secretly record their interaction. After far too much pushback, and discussions of her boyfriend who wasn’t even there, the man walks away… to another group of women who also want to be left alone. Without hesitating, Olivia steps in to help.

@olivialutfallah the difference in how we were treated during this trip when we had our guy friends with us vs. when it was just us 2 girls is actually insane #girl #relatable #girls #adhd #adhdtiktok ♬ original sound – Olivia Lutfallah

If you’re a woman as well, then you especially understand the importance of solidarity. It can be terrifying to step in during a situation like this, but it really can be so helpful. And, at times, it can even save a life.

“The difference in how we were treated during this trip when we had our guy friends with us vs. when it was just us 2 girls is actually insane,” Olivia notes.

Woman Praised for Intervening When a Creepy Drunk Man Refuses to Listen

Olivia’s video encourages an ongoing discussion around women’s safety in public. Plus, folks in the comments are also taking this moment to praise Olivia for being so brave.

“You handled this and protected another group of girls so well,” someone writes. “I hate that this happens to every single one of us.”

“Ok but also bless you for defending the girls next to you, too, even though you were scared,” another shares.
