Woman Shares Touchingly Beautiful Story Of Older Brother’s Sacrifice To Support Her

One woman found out just how much her older brother loved her when she went through a lung and kidney transplant miles away from home. In an incredible post on social media, Matison revealed that her sibling dropped everything to be with her during this time. Not only did he provide her with some much-needed companionship, but he also became her full-time caregiver! She calls his support “the biggest act of love I have ever received.”

In a touching slideshow, Matison revealed that she went into respiratory failure years ago. She had to travel to San Francisco, where she would receive the organ transplants she needed to stay alive. However, when she got there, she found out that she’d have to stay a while. So, her older brother went out there to help her get settled into an apartment.

After three months, Matison was finally able to receive her transplant. Her recovery was going to be intense, so her older brother decided to become her full-time caregiver. That meant he would have to leave his wife and kids so that he could live in San Franciso with his sister.

“He did literally everything for me: educated himself on the care I needed, learned all of my medications, drove me to my appointments (sometimes four a day), helped me manage my feeding tube,” the young woman wrote in her post.

She added, “He cleaned me, dressed me, woke up in the night with me, and created a safe space to feel every single emotion I had. And there were a lot…”

This woman’s older brother stayed with her for two months, making sure that she was completely taken care of after her transplants. If that’s not love, we don’t know what is! Matison’s beautiful story reminds us that we all have the power to make a difference in someone else’s life, whether that’s by taking care of family, becoming an organ donor, or just being kind.
