No one has “find a lost dachshund” on their bingo card. When discussing her morning run, Emma Sunny (Sunderland) added the caption, “I found and saved a lost dog, hehehe. Giving the kangaroo island sausage dog a run for his money.” Her lost dachshund was only missing for an hour. The Kangaroo Island dog eluded capture for almost two years. Language warning — At the end of the video, the man utters a “loving” expletive for his dog.

The day’s run began normally, but got a bit chaotic when Emma realized she was being followed. The “suspect” was a lost dachshund that decided she was the best bet. After carrying the dog and asking around, some people reported seeing a man looking for a dog. With assistance from others, the man was located.
One person on a bicycle offered to ride back to where she had seen the man moments ago. She did, and the man began making his way back toward the place Emma waited with the lost dachshund. Emma set the dog down when she saw the man, and the dog ran right to Dad.

It turns out that the lost dachshund knew a kindred soul when it followed Emma. She has a wiener dog of her own and is very sympathetic to the breed. When the lost dog followed her, it may have sensed that kinship and knew she was the one to help find its dad.
