Men do weird things when they think no one is watching. When Idalis Lago checked on her husband, Jaime Lago, in the yard, she got quite an eyeful. And fortunately for us, she had the camera rolling. What Idalis saw was her husband walking in a partially crouched stance, hands behind his back. He was bobbing his upper body up and down like a bird while making odd noises. The farmyard birds were following behind him in a weird parade of chickens, ducks, and turkeys.

Seeing her husband performing the odd ritual was funny enough. What he did after she got his attention was even more hilarious. Idalis had to call out to him several times because of the chatter of the farmyard birds. They were clearly having a grand old time following their hapless leader as he clucked and cooed and gobbled. Idalis noted that the farmyard birds were talking back to her husband as they marched around the yard. It was like a scene out of the Pied Piper.
Once Idalis got Jaime’s attention, he looked up and noticed she was recording. He hollered, “What are you recording?” then took off running. He almost tripped over a chicken in his haste to get out of camera view.
We’ve seen our fair share of animals that became chicken whisperers, but never a human with that talent. The way Jaime was strutting around like he was a farmyard bird is probably what drew them all in. The question that remains unanswered is how many other times has he played this game? He seemed very practiced and comfortable in his portrayal of a yard rover. His bird sounds were spot-on, and the critters followed right along and answered.
