Music legend Willie Nelson has just officially been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! At age 90, this is quite a well-deserved accomplishment. When he was accepting the honor, Willie Nelson highlighted a few friends he thought ought to earn the award, too: Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.

Willie’s speech was incredible. He started by acknowledging the incredible folks who are already in the Hall of Fame.

“Thank all of y’all for this honor. I appreciate the acknowledgment of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, included with so many legends and some I’m lucky enough to call friends,” Willie said.

Willie walked through a few eras of his music and then lingered a bit when discussing his time in The Highwaymen, a group made up of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson himself.

“Now that Johnny and I have been inducted,” Willie said, “I want to give a plug for Waylon who played with Buddy Holly, and Kris who sang so many hits, to be inducted too.”

Willie’s such a good friend! Some define success as the ability to take your friends with you. Willie Nelson is using his influence for good, shouting out his friends. What do you think? Should Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings join the Hall of Fame with Willie Nelson?

Watch the full speech below, including an iconic jam at the end. Enjoy!
