Which is more popular, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance or Super Bowl LVIII? We can’t say for sure, but they’re both getting loads of attention these days, and many people think that creates the perfect opportunity for an on-field proposal during or after the big game.
The power couple’s love has been blossoming with the NFL as a backdrop. Taylor and Travis began dating in July and went public in September, just as the current football season was heating up. Despite her busy popstar schedule, Taylor has made it to 11 of her beau’s games. And cameras caught them publically professing their love for each other after the AFC Championship game on Jan. 28.
Now that Travis and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl on Feb. 11, Swifties and non-Swifties alike believe Travis will get down on one knee on live TV either during halftime or the post-game celebration.
“I’m calling it right now, KC Chiefs 27 SF 49ers 14 in Super Bowl day. Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor at the 50-yard line,” someone speculated on X. “Don’t believe me? Come back to this post after the Super Bowl is over.”
“Super Bowl predictions!!!” another person wrote. “Kansas City over 49ers Finale score 27 – 14 Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift Mark my words & place your bets!
Fans Are Placing Bets on a Travis Kelce Proposal
And people are placing their bets—sizable ones. According to the Daily Mail, Canada’s Sportsbook FanDuel is one of the places handling the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce gambling. The odds began at +190 for Kelce to propose.
“Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift after the game?” asked KBC Sportsbook LLC on X. “We will personally book any bets on YES.”
As of Feb. 2, the “yes” option was up to +1060. To win, Travis has to pop the question on the field. If he asks in the locker room or while celebrating after the game, It doesn’t count.
However, the “no” option was at -3000, which means more people believe Travis Kelce will not ask Taylor Swift to be his wife during the Super Bowl. Despite all the chatter on social media, we don’t think he’ll do it either.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Are ‘Brand New’
While talking on the Pat McAfee Show on Feb. 4, Travis gushed over his superstar girlfriend, but he pointed out that they only just started dating.
“It’s exciting for me,” he said. “But it’s all brand new, man. From having the paparazzi follow me every single day into work, to just everybody having my name on their talk show every single day – whether it’s sports, whether it’s not sports, you know – it’s just been a crazy, crazy ride I could have never anticipated.”
Travis noted that he’s “having fun with it.” But he doesn’t exactly sound like he’s ready for such a major commitment. Also, proposing on the field would take all the attention away from the players who just won the biggest matchup of the year. And Taylor Swift has already had plenty of negative press for overshadowing the NFL.
But we know there is still a possibility that Travis’ team could support him getting on one knee during that special moment. So, we could be wrong. If we are, we will try to be the first to congratulate the love birds!
