Man Devastated After Losing Wife Of 60 Years, Then Finds Hidden Note To Him In Her Wallet.

If you’ve ever lost someone close to you, you know the feeling of wishing you could talk to them just one last time. When Jimmy Breland’s wife passed away during the holiday season in 2015, he thought it was goodbye forever. Jimmy and his wife Billie were married in 1954 and remained faithfully married for 60 years.

The two were beloved by their community in Mississippi. Jimmy was a Baptist student minister at a local university and Billie was a public school teacher. When Billie passed away, Jimmy was surprised by a note he found in Billie’s checkbook.

Billie was known to write little notes and leave them for herself around the house and in her things to remind herself of things.

So two days after she died, when Jimmy discovered a note tucked away in Billie’s checkbook, he figured it was probably one of her notes for herself but when he opened it he couldn’t believe his eyes.

She had written him a special note before she died, just for this moment; to comfort him after her passing.

The note read:

Please don’t cry because I died! Smile because I lived! Know that I’m in a happy place!

Know that we will meet again!

I’ll see you there!

The Breland’s grandson cliff shared the note on Facebook in January 2015 where it went viral.

“It perfectly sums up the hope and comfort that comes with knowing you’ll meet again in eternity,”Cliff wrote on Yellowhammer News.

What an amazing love story for the ages.
