What Veterinary Employees Do On A “Slow Day” Is Hilariously Gag-Worthy

Images show employees in a veternary clinic tasting no-chew wrap.

Every job has a slow day now and again. Even an emergency veterinarian has the occasional down period. Normal office procedures dictate that routine tasks like cleaning, restocking, and organizing should be accomplished during these periodic lulls. But what happens when the staff runs out of menial tasks? Ashley the Vet Nurse and her team decided to try chewing “no chew wrap” to see how bad it really tastes.

Have you tried no chew vet wrap? If you work in emergency, we love us a fast paced and busy day – but when we are slow and finished cleaning, what else is there to do but try no chew vet wrap 😂 #vetmed #veterinaria #veterinarian #vettech #vetnurse #vetstudent #vetstagram #ashleythevetnurse

No-chew wrap is a medical wrap that includes yucky flavoring for animals. It is similar to Coban wrap for humans, but ours doesn’t have the special flavoring. The self-adhesive bandage covering goes over gauze dressings to keep wounds clean. The material’s flexibility allows for a greater range of activity during the healing process. Due to residue from the flavored coating residue, they recommend using rubber gloves to apply no-chew wrap.

Seeing the unanimous reactions, you don’t want to try this at home. First, Ashley tasted the residue on her fingers. The look on her face says she may vomit any second.

Next up was a male coworker. They put the no-chew wrap around his wrist. With panache and a growl, he acted out the role of a dog chewing on a wrapped wound. That plan did not end well. It should be promptly tossed upon the pile of poor life choices.

After spitting on the floor, the poor man got up and ran, looking for something (anything) to get that taste out of his mouth. His moans of agony continue loudly as Ashley and several other employees laugh in the background. As he ran through the clinic, they were all enjoying his discomfort.

If you laughed when they gagged, share this.
