What Are The Odds? 1 In 20 Billion! Mom Gives Birth To Identical Triplets At 46.

Seven. This was always the magic number for how big Audrey Tiberius wanted her family to be. At 46, she finally got her wish.

At 41, Audrey and her husband Tyler were trying to have another baby. It wasn’t as easy as they’d hoped. She recalls being told her eggs were too old. They even tried a variety of fertility treatments, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

And then a miracle happened.

At 46, she became pregnant naturally… with identical triplet boys. Sky, River, and Bay were born on March 30. Audrey and Tyler already had four boys: Marcus, 13, James, 11, Christian, 9, and Max, 7.

“I prayed and prayed for like five years to have more children because I always wanted a really big family,” Audrey said.

Audrey is well aware of how incredible her having triplets in her mid 40s is.

“The odds of this happening is just so incredibly rare that to me this just has to be a miracle,” she said.

Since the chances for women to become pregnant as they age lessen, this indeed is a rare case. Statistically, experts put the odds of identical triplets at one in 200 million births, Audrey shared. The odds of a 45-year-old having identical triplets are one in 20 billion. Miracle confirmed!

When she found out she was pregnant at 45, she said she was over the moon. And when she discovered she was having triplets, it became a dream-come-true as she hit that magic number seven.

While she was excited to have more babies, she knew her age presented a risk. But she kept her faith and trusted her body.

There is a higher risk of miscarriage in the first trimester because the uterine lining isn’t as healthy, according to Dr. Dr. Lisa Thiel, a maternal fetal medicine specialist at Spectrum Health West Michigan.

As a mom of seven boys, one can imagine she is certainly a busy lady. She pumps breastmilk for about seven hours a day. This is of course in addition to burping babies, changing diapers, and of course the beloved snuggles. She is currently looking for milk donors so she can have more time with her children.

“I’m kind of amazed at what my 46-year-old body can do,” she said.

Now, for the real question. Does she want more children? It’s not off the table as she has always wanted a daughter. She says her husband believes that after this miracle, the sky’s the limit. For now, they are enjoying baby heaven.

“I just feel like my life is complete now with these three sweet babies,” Audrey said.
