A lot of things have changed over the past 75 years, but one thing remains the same for David and Zenobia Booth: Their love for one another.
David, 94, and Zenobia, 93, first met at Knoxville High School. They said they immediately got “hooked” on each other and started dating. After graduating in 1947, they got married and have been together ever since – this means they’ve been married for 75 years!
“We’ve been together that long and I’m still in love with her,” said David. “We’re still soulmates.”
To celebrate this amazing milestone in their marriage, the couple’s family decided to surprise them with a one-night stay in the place where it all began. They turned one of the classrooms in the old building at Knoxville High into an apartment which brought back hundreds of memories for this lovely couple who hope to celebrate even more years together.
When asked about the key to a successful marriage, they said it’s important to realize that there are going to be highs and lows.
“You can’t walk out when there’s a low,” Zenobia said.
David and Zenobia are a great example of true love, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations to these high school sweethearts!
