If there is anything we can all agree on right now, it’s that nostalgia is huge. Society as a whole misses the days when things were less expensive, life was not as chaotic, and drinking a soda in a yellow Wendy’s cup could cure all of our woes. We can’t do much about cost and chaos, but we’re delighted to share that Wendy’s answered the call of millions of fans-Yellow packaging is back.

“Fans have been asking for its return for years, making it one of the most requested comebacks in Wendy’s history,” a spokesperson shared in a statement obtained by “Today.” “Yellow has been part of Wendy’s since the very beginning and is something many fans instantly recognize.”
@chrisfrez Wendy’s is going old school again! The iconic Wendy’s yellow packaging appears to be returning September 28, bringing back the yellow cups, fry containers, burger wrappers and boxes so many of us remember from classic Wendy’s restaurants. And there’s more happening at Wendy’s: for National Cheeseburger Day on September 18, Wendy’s Rewards members can get a Dave’s Single for just $1.99 with purchase through the Wendy’s app or website. With Wendy’s working to turn around its restaurant business and leaning harder into value and nostalgia, could bringing back the classic yellow Wendy’s look be exactly what the brand needs? Who remembers when Wendy’s was yellow?

Wendy’s Fries and a Frosty Hit Different Packaged in Yellow
We know that many people weren’t alive during Wendy’s yellow era, but we promise those were the good old days. And it’s not just us feeling yellow. Social media blew up with people excited for the nostalgic touch.
“Hell yeah! I need me a $5 biggie bag,” a fan wrote.
This person knows the truth. Someone about that color made it delicious. “That yellow packaging had the fries tasting 10x better idc.”
Others have great memories of Wendy’s yellow from their childhoods. “I remember my mom stopping here once a month as a child. Those were the good ole days. Honestly, I forgot about the yellow packaging,” one fan wrote.
“Wendy’s is the last fast food chain where the food tastes the closest to ‘fresh’ quality . I’m with it,” another person shared.
No word on how long we can get our burgers wrapped in yellow paper at Wendy’s. The packaging will roll out nationwide on September 28, 2026.
