It’s estimated that India has 30 million stray dogs. Thankfully, organizations like Animal Aid Unlimited exist to help the poor, homeless creatures.
On a regular basis, calls come in to their rescue hotline about animals in desperate need of help. And when a villager called the number, they detailed how they’d found a dog struggling to stay afloat in a well. The rescue group quickly mobilized and arrived on-scene.

They found the dog down a deep well, clinging to the side. She was clearly scared and exhausted.
No one knew how long she had been there before she was discovered by the kind villager.

Occasionally, she lost her grip on the side and desperately swam around for a few seconds before regaining her hold. Knowing they had a limited amount of time to get her, Animal Aid Unlimited got to work.

A man was lowered into the well with a net to capture her… but when he got to the waterline, she swam right up to him. She knew help had arrived!

Scooping her into his arms and the safety of the net, the rescuer lifted the sweet girl out of the well and onto solid ground.

The rescue team then rushed her to their facility where they treated her wounds and showed her some love – it was clear she’d been in the water and living on the streets for some time.

We’re so glad that these amazing people got to her in time. Now, she’ll be able to live out her days happy and healthy!
