When there’s a potential for the weather to turn deadly, meteorologists are the ones we turn to for information and guidance. I can only imagine the level of stress they must feel in these moments. But for this meteorologist, one of these moments was only made worse by the fact that his home was directly in the path of a tornado — and he knew that’s exactly where his kids were at the moment.
Though he manages to stay calm, there’s a bit of a panic to his voice when he realizes this. At this point, he could have stayed focused on his job but, instead, he chooses to be a parent first. While still informing folks at home of what they need to know, this caring dad calls one of his kids to let them know they need to go to the basement immediately.
In warning his kids, not only was he a good parent, but he also demonstrated how serious the situation was for everyone else. This moment has since gone viral, prompting folks from all around to praise this awesome dad for prioritizing his family. We love to see it!
