Sometimes, when kids want a Happy Meal, they’re craving fries and nuggets. But other times, it’s all about what kind of toy McDonald’s has inside the famous red and yellow box. The Golden Arches dropped big news for Happy Meal toy collectors on May 13. For the first time since 2023, McDonald’s will feature Squishmallows toys in Happy Meals starting now.

“Inside each Happy Meal box, you will find your classic McDonald’s order of choice, along with one of 12 adorable Squishmallows, including a never-before-seen Intergalactic Axolotl named Halley,” McDonald’s announced. “Each Squishmallows comes with a character hang tag, telling you the name and a little about each Squish, plus a code to scan and immerse yourself in an interactive game.”
Fans Can’t Wait To Get Their Hands On The New McDonald’s Happy Meal Toy
Sure, Happy Meals are targeted toward kids, but collectors of all ages love this kind of collaboration. McDonald’s shared pics of the new Squishmallow Happy Meal toys on Instagram with a call to action for collectors.
“Legend has it.. the hunt for Happy Meal @squishmallows is back today,” McDonald’s wrote.
Fans immediately shared their excitement about the McDonald’s and Squishmallow collaboration.
“Wonder how many meals it will take to get Cam,” a collector asked.
This person has completed their Happy Meal prep complete. “Dinner sorted for the rest of the week, happy meals every day,” they joked.
Lots of people asked if the new Happy Meal toys were available in Canada and one collector came in clutch with answers.
They wrote, “GOT THEM IN ONTARIO CANADA!!!! why is @mcdonalds saying they arent out here when they are?!!??!”
“Y’all making me buy my fully grown up gf happy meals now because of this,” an adult wrote.
But, of course, some people don’t give a darn about a Happy Meal toy, they have other priorities.
“i literally dont care until you bring back the snack wrap,” a disgruntled customer wrote.
