Family Realizes The Perfect Way To Utilize Their “Free Will” With Unique Lawn Decor

The unruly hedge was an eyesore. Heather Swanson’s husband probably wished a UFO would happen by and zap the hedge off the planet. Since that wasn’t an option, he buckled down and got to work shaping the overgrown mess into Heather’s dream. It came out beautifully and will be the talk of the neighborhood for years to come.

An AI-created picture inspired the design. It took some doing, but Heather and her husband managed to come very close to that first picture. They started by trimming around the base to turn the base of the hedge into the base of the UFO saucer. Thus, a random Tuesday became a day that shall go down in infamy, at least in their neighborhood.

They shaped the bubble area next, centered on the flattish, round base. Once the trimming was complete, it was time to figure out the lighting. They used solar lights mounted around the top section of the base disk. They were a perfect fit, offering round, upward-facing “running” lights.

Next, they used twinkling LED lights for the bubble section, giving the illusion of reflecting glass. Blue LED lights wrapped around the base of the disk and yellow LEDs around the base of the bubble finished the look (for now).

Commenters are adding detailed suggestions, and Heather is busy collecting ideas. The project will undoubtedly undergo a few improvements. To view the entire process and stay up-to-date, follow Heather Swanson on TikTok.

Hopefully, the couple is not subject to HOA rules, or they might get some pushback for the innovative topiary. People do enjoy colorful light displays, though, so maybe they can keep it. The display definitely adds otherworldly charm to their lawn decor.
