When a woman gets pregnant, the thought of whether or not she’s carrying twins almost always slips into her mind, uninvited.
In the United States, only about 12 to 16 out of every 1,000 people are naturally-conceived twins. The chances of having twins naturally are very small, however… it obviously does happen. While twins equal double the love, they also equal double the everything. Double the diapers, middle-of-the-night feedings, college tuition… you get the idea. It’s a lot to take in, especially when you’re not expecting to hear the news that you’re growing two babies instead of one!

One expecting father captured the moment when his wife learned they were going to have twins for the first time, and the video perfectly embodies all of the mixed emotions a parent must feel when they hear that news!
The funny thing is, this couple had been joking around about the possibility ever since the second she found out she was pregnant. So when the ultrasound technician announced that there were two babies in her womb, the mom could not believe her ears.

“Are you kidding me right now?” The new mom asks incredulously. The technician points out the distinct outlines of two babies on the ultrasound. There’s definitely no question about it; there are two in there!

It takes her numerous minutes to actually believe her eyes, probably thinking that her husband put the technician up to it: “Is this somebody else’s video?” she asks at one point.
Of course, you can tell she’s really happy, and her first thought is whether both babies look healthy, but whoa! What a shock this must have been. She went into the room barely showing, and expecting to see her little baby for the very first time. Instead, she received life-changing news!

While Mom lies there in literal shock, Dad seems to be taking the news in stride! Perhaps because he has been joking about this possibility since day one.
A boy and a girl, or two of either gender? Doesn’t matter. “We’re done,” Mom says firmly. “That’s it. Done.”
