Rainy days always put a damper on things, especially for people who’d rather get their exercise outdoors instead of in the gym.
It’s a double disappointment when your favorite, four-legged buddy is your exercise buddy, which calls for some creative thinking. Some owners run up and down the stairs together, others play a good ol’ game of hide-and-seek, while still others hide treats around the house and set their dogs loose to go hunt them down.

Believe it or not, there are even treadmills out there designed specifically for larger dogs to accommodate their longer and wider gaits. That’s handy not only for rainy days or when it’s too hot or cold outside for a long walk or run, but also for owners who can’t keep up with their dogs’ exercise needs.
But Feathers the Golden Retriever didn’t want his owners to have to go through all the trouble and expense of buying him his own exercise equipment. He’d rather they just save that money and use it on treats and tennis balls. So he learned how to run on their treadmill, and they came up with an ingenious solution to keep those rainy day blues at bay:

Now this looks like one happy customer! Even on rainy days, he gets in his daily exercise quota, still gets to do it outdoors, and the moist and cold air combine to make those scents he loves so much even more scrumptious.
