Toys “R” Us To Open More New Stores As Comeback Continues

Toys "R" Us

Even though we didn’t want to grow up, the Toys “R” Us generation is much older and perhaps even a bit wiser than we were back then. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t still love to play and have fun, just as we did when we were kids. When the retailer closed its final locations in 2018, it broke a generation’s hearts. Geoffrey and the gang began a comeback in 2021, much to the delight of fans everywhere. With the 2025 holiday season upon us, things are looking up for the retailer.

Toys “R” Us Will Open Several New Locations This Year

The brand announced the good news in a press release. The brand plans to open 10 new flagship stores and 20 seasonal holiday shops by the end of 2025.

“As we head into the most magical time of the year, Toys ’R’ Us is reaching more kids and families than ever before,” Kimberly Miller, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Toys ‘R’ Us shared in a news release. “From new store openings with our global partners, to the launch of our second Global Holiday Play Day serving as the runway to the season, to Geoffrey’s Birthday celebrated worldwide on October 17th—and of course the main event in December—Toys ‘R’ Us is creating joy and excitement for kids of all ages everywhere.”

Currently, Toys “R” Us has flagship stores at American Dream and Mall of America, as well as a presence in every Macy’s store nationwide. It also plans to grow its footprint with military families by opening stores on military bases in the United States.

We love seeing Toys “R” Us rise from the ashes and hope to raise another generation of kids who don’t want to grow up.
