For the most part, those in the know about the Marvel Cinematic Universe are tight-lipped about any potential secrets they may hold. With all of the movies and shows they create, this can’t be easy. Still, they’re successful much of the time… with some exceptions now and then. But thanks to some urban explorers, we may have a sneak peek via an abandoned movie set.

The two friends who discovered this abandoned set live in England. For a while, concrete blocks covered the entrance to a closed mine called Middleton. So, when one of these curious folks noticed the blocks were gone, they wanted to get a closer look. In doing so, they discovered what appears to be an abandoned movie set for Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four film. Catch a glimpse in the video below!

“I usually like to find interesting artefacts, but I’ve not found a film set before,” one of the explorers shares. “We were walking along with our torches and we suddenly found this area all built up and an old American bus just sitting there. The lighting rigs were there on scaffolding and a map of where they wanted all the lights to be.”

Getting to this spot was no simple walk in the park. To reach the film set, they ventured 1,000 feet underground. But it’s clear they don’t regret their decision to find out what secrets this area held. In fact, they ended up spending four hours exploring the mines.
“There were all sorts of pipes they’d used to keep the air clean — there’s a risk of radon gas down there,” they continue. “It was quite something to see the film set — it wasn’t what we had expected at all.”
