You’ve probably heard that it takes seven years to fully digest gum, but news flash: That’s totally false.
But try to tell this little girl that and you might be met with cries or panicked screams. While everyone knows that swallowing gum isn’t necessarily a good idea, when this little girl accidentally eats a piece, she is literally in the throes of horror. “Will it make it bigger when I drink water?” Amelia frantically asks her dad.
Whatever dreadfully graphic images are flashing through her head, they’re definitely enough to scare the bejeezus out of her. Fortunately, her mom was there to film the meltdown, complete with piercing screams, tears, flapping hands, clenched fists, and stomping feet.

Too bad Mom didn’t catch the moment when the gum went down the gullet. But the clip starts mid-tirade. Amelia acts as though she’s just been handed a death sentence. Farewell, cruel world!
“What happened?” Mom asks.
“I swallowed the gum!” her daughter cries. She says something unintelligible, followed by tearful pleas for leniency: “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry!”
“Where is it?” her dad joins in.

“It’s in my tummy,”she says on the verge of panic.
“It’s okay…”Mom says while trying hard (and failing) to not laugh.
“Oh no, it’s going to make me throw up!”

“You shouldn’t have give me gum,” Amelia warns her mom.
“You ask for gum all the time!” Mom responds.
“I’m so sorry!” Amelia comes back, realizing the fault in her ways.
