The last few years have been extremely hard for the Today Show’s Sheinelle Jones. She lost her husband, Uche Ojeh, in May 2025 after a long and difficult battle with glioblastoma. Her television family stayed by her side and supported her as she took time to heal. She recently returned and now cohosts Today with Jenna and & Sheinelle. A strong proponent of privacy, Sheinelle Jones intentionally kept her kids out of the spotlight, but when they appeared on set recently, it made everyone emotional.

Sheinelle Jones Wants to Protect Her Kids at All Costs
It’s easy to see why Sheinelle Jones wants her kids to live in a bit of a bubble. After losing their father, they understand more than most kids that life is fragile. While promoting her new book, Through Mom’s Eyes, her son Kayin, 16, and 13-year-old twins Clara and Uche Jr. joined her on set, carrying flowers and huge smiles. Sheinelle instantly burst into the most heart-warming tears.
“We couldn’t celebrate this book or this day without the three people whom you dedicated,” Jenna Bush Hager shared.
Sheinelle Jones kids let their sweet mom know just what she means to them and how hard she works.
“Words can’t even describe it. I’m so happy for you, Mom,” Kayin said. “You’ve worked on this since quarantine. We’ve had the ups and downs. I mean, I remember when you lost your computer, it broke even. We’ve obviously gone through so much and I’m so happy for you.”
Uche Jr. said his mom’s compassion and kindness has “a great effect on everybody. Clara agreed and told Jenna the new book is really good.
What a proud mama, Sheinelle Jones must be. She’s got some really loving kids.
