On April 20, Today with Jenna & Sheinelle made a huge announcement. Jenna Bush Hager has been working on the pilot for NBC’s new family drama, Protection. She explained that she’ll find out in the next week whether or not the network will pick up the show.

“It’s like this kind of really fun Scandal-esque, it has a little bit of a White House twist. So I brought some of that. A little romance. But family drama, which I think we’re all kind of desperate for, with some mystery,” Jenna said.
Jenna Bush Hager Shared Photos from the Pilot
Jenna Bush Hager didn’t want to give too much away, but she shared photos from the table read and shooting the pilot. Fans loved seeing Jenna working on a new project.
“So exciting Jenna Bush! Congrats! Love your realness and just feel like we’d be friends. Former Texas girl/ New Yorker / and LA transplant,” a fan wrote on Instagram.

Just hearing about Jenna Bush Hager’s pilot has people very interested.
“I’m actually really excited about this,” a follower wrote.
According to Deadline, Protection follows the story of a U.S. Marshal whose family becomes targets of an assassin.
“Bridging personal differences and crossing professional boundaries, the Thornhill family must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code,” Deadline explains.
Yep, this sounds fantastic. We hope NBC picks this one up.
