Today’s Craig Melvin let it all go during his family vacation, and fans approve.

The beloved anchor recently missed a week at Studio 1A so he could spend some beach time with his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, and their son, Delano, 12, and daughter, Sybil, 9. While he was relaxing in the sun, he didn’t bother keeping up his news anchor appearance, and his hair and beard got refreshingly wild.
In a post, Melvin shared a couple photos of his new, temporary look, and said his daughter needed the world to see what he looked like after a week of relaxation.
“My daughter wants me to post what I look like at the end of vacation week with no shaving and hair care,” he captioned. “She’s not on ig bc she’s so young but seems to understand social media shaming nonetheless. Back to work tomorrow. See you there.”

The pictures show that Melvin let his gray hairs grow free and that he let his lumberjack stubble peek through. He almost doesn’t look like the same person.
“You look terrible 😂,” his friend and co-anchor, Carson Daly, commented.
“Looking relaxed and refreshed!!!” a fan added. “Hope it was amazing!!!!”
“Look great, I love when news broadcasters etc… live in their relaxed era!!” another fan gushed.
Craig Melvin returned to Today on Monday, April 20th, and he decided to keep his new look for the broadcast.
