Tim McGraw Performs Emotional Rendition Of ‘Humble and Kind’ At CMA’s, The Moving Lyrics Will Speak To Your Soul.

Tim McGraw performed a heartwarming rendition of his 2016 CMA Award-winning Song of the Year single “Humble and Kind”on Wednesday at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Dressed in a tuxedo and his signature black cowboy hat, McGraw was on stage alone as a spotlight shone on him. But as the song progressed, images of people of all races and relationships were broadcast on the screen behind him.

We have seen McGraw perform moving performances for weddings and other events but this one hits deeper. His song is one of compassion, understanding and unity with brothers and sisters of every nationality and creed. It brings the whirlwind of life back to a simpler time, “Though you’ve got mountains to climb, always stay humble and kind,” the song remindes us.

Later, a group of children dressed in black from the Christ Presbyterian Academy joined McGraw on the stage holding candles in their hands as the singer knelt on the stage to finish singing the ballad. As the cameras panned to Lori McKenna, the songwriter, she was moved to tears watching McGraw perform the song she created for her husband and five children.

McKenna, would later go on to win the coveted CMA Song of The Year award at the ceremony last night, and one listen will show you why.
