A man named Nick Edwards recently got a life-changing surprise and millions of people saw it happen on live television!

The 35-year-old property manager from South Yorkshire, England was told by his family that they had a full day of activities planned. One of the day’s first stops happened to be the “Britain’s Got Talent” auditions.

“When we went out for breakfast, my sister-in-law, who works in marketing, she said: ‘Oh I’ve got these free tickets. Do you want to come and see it? We will kill some time, big things happening tonight, you’re going to love the day. It’s brilliant,'” Nick recalled.

When Nick, his wife, and his sister-in-law entered the Palladium auditorium, they were seated in a special “googlebox” section of the audience. Nick thought nothing of the microphone they asked him to wear so that producers could “capture his reactions.”

“He was totally unsuspecting,” stated a “Britain’s Got Talent” representative. “We did this so we could mic him up without him suspecting a thing.”

But then something incredible happened. To Nick’s surprise, his two young daughters walked on stage, accompanied by his mother, Tracey, who is a dance instructor.

Four-year-old Cali and her 3-year-old sister, Savannah, held Nana Tracey’s hands as they spoke to judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell, and David Walliams.

The children were charming, and Nick was wiping away the tears. He assumed that his mother had taught the girls a dance and they would be the ones auditioning, but he quickly learned the truth.

“Well, Nick doesn’t know anything about it, but we want to surprise him and we want him to come and sing because he sings a lovely song for the girls,” Tracey told them.

After some persuasion, a tearful Nick finally walked on stage. He left briefly to get a glass of water, returning with his guitar, which his family had secretly brought with them. He told the judges that he seldom sings in public these days.

“I think over the years, I’ve lost a lot of confidence in myself,” he said. “So I tend to do it at home in the shower.”

At last, Nick began to play and sing. He performed Ernie Hatler’s song, “Daddy’s Little Girl,” a song he finds deep meaning in as the father of two daughters. His voice is pure and unique, and by the time he finished, host Declan Donnelly and many of the judges were in tears.

“It was so sweet, you have a nice voice,” said Cowell.

Walliams added, “It was just so moving from start to finish… there’s not a dry eye in the house and that really hit me emotionally more than anything else today.”

What an incredible surprise! We hope this audition helps Nick gain back some of his confidence because, as you can see in his audition, he’s very talented!
