The Weekend Will Be Rosy With A Pink Moon In The Sky

Pink Moon

For those who love to watch a good show from the comfort of home, Mother Nature has something for you. On April 12, at 8:22 EST, the pink moon will rise. This will be the smallest full moon of 2025, commonly referred to as a micro moon. But, it’s also a super moon.

Per space.com, “The Full Pink Moon name comes from the moss pink or creeping phlox, one of the first wildflowers to bloom in early spring in North America. [Its] name [is] rooted in Native American traditions and was popularized by the Old Farmer’s Almanac. Other historical names for April’s full moon include the Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon, and Fish Moon, each marking seasonal transitions in different cultures.”

The Pink Moon Won’t Actually Appear Pink

The name “pink moon” certainly brings to mind a rose-colored orb, but that’s not actually what will happen. The pink moon does, however, play an essential role in determining religious calendars.

Space.com explains, “This full moon also plays a significant role in religious calendars. In the Christian tradition, the Paschal Moon determines the date of Easter, which falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. In 2025, Easter will be celebrated on April 20.”

Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas told Good Morning America that the pink moon falls in Libra and explained its significance. “Libra is a charming, social, and kind zodiac sign that is represented by the symbolic image of the scales or balance,” he said. “This shows their innate desire for fairness, justice, and logic. By working with others, we can advance our goals and become greater than just ourselves.”

Kyle added that Libra is a sign focused on partnership and balance, and the pink moon will help enhance those energies.

“Because Libra is an air sign, using communication, mantras, or journaling can be excellent tools for manifestation,” he added. “Libra is also ruled by Venus, the planet of love, so using the color pink can be helpful. Using rose quartz, incense, or flowers can also aid you.”
