We weren’t ready for this perfect storm! Maree Mamalis returned to the stage on “The Voice Australia” with an absolutely mind-blowing rendition of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse.” What took her cover over the top was her delivery of the line, “There’s no going back.” In the original pop song, these words are spoken. However, Maree turned them into the most impressive part of the performance by belting them out in a freestyle run.
This isn’t the first time the singer has blown us away on “The Voice Australia.” During her blind audition, she performed a cover of Billie Eilish’s “listen before i go” that had Rita Ora using her buzzer within the first few seconds. The other three coaches weren’t far behind, but Jason Derulo ended up persuading her to join his team.
