The Voice Coaches

The Voice returned with season 28 on September 22, and we’ve already had a huge surprise twist. Jacob Ryan Gustafson, a 35-year-old firefighter from California, performed Spin You Around by Morgan Wallen. During his intro video, Jacob explained to the The Voice coaches he chose the video for a special reason.

“When I hear this song, I think of my girlfriend, Jen, and spinning around all night dancing,” he said. “That’s what I want to do with her for the rest of my life.”

He sang his song with love and heart, but it didn’t wow The Voice coaches enough to turn their chairs. But that’s not where his journey ended.

When he finished, Jacob asked The Voice coaches, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dog if he could bring Jen up to the stage. He introduced her, and both Niall and Snoop commended him on his performance. But Jacob wasn’t finished. As he held his girlfriend’s hand, he made a dream come true on that stage.

“She is the reason why I’m here. I’m so blessed,” Jacon said. “And right now, if I could change anything, the only thing I would change is your last name.”

The move shocked The Voice coaches, and as Jacob hit his knee, Snoop cheered him on, “Oh, go ahead, Jacob. Go ahead, Jacob!”

Jacob looked Jen in the eye and popped the question.

“Will you marry me?”

The moment touched the hearts of The Voice coaches and the audience. As they all cheered, the scene cut to Michael Bublé, who had a profound statement.

“Jacob shows you that there are no losers on ‘The Voice,’” he said.

Fans loved it, too.

“He seems like a great dude. He’s a firefighter and really loves his family. I’m glad he’s now engaged,” one wrote on YouTube.

Congratulations, Jacob and Jen. We’re with Michael on this one, you won big!
