The youngest of the Wales children made an appearance on his parents’ official Instagram page today. In a sweet birthday photo, he stands by the sea with a big smile—showing off his missing teeth— and his arms crossed. He wears a blue sweater and his dirty blonde hair is blowing in the wind.

“Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!” reads the caption.

Kate and William, who also share Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince George, 12, have made a sweet tradition out of posting new portraits of their children each year. Kate is an avid photographer who loves capturing photos of her family as they grow and explore.

Princess Kate is the Family’s Royal Photographer

The princess often describes herself as an “amateur photographer,” though we beg to differ. Her work is beautiful and shows a natural and elegant view into her life. Her fans adore seeing her pictures, which encourages her to take more and develop her talent. Although her children often grow tired of smiling for the camera.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Mummy, please stop taking photographs!'” she once told another mother and photographer named Ceri Edwards, per Harper’s Bazaar.

While Louis may have begrudgingly posed for his recent portrait, his fans are loving it.

“What a beautiful picture!!” someone gushed. “Thank you for surprising us with it! He isn’t a baby anymore 🥹🥹 happy birthday, Prince Louis! I hope you will have a super fun day with your beloved family and will have a wonderful new year! We all love you 💙💙💙💙.”
