Mom And 3 Daughters Wow “Britain’s Got Talent” Judges With Flawless Harmony.

If anyone knows how to build up the suspense, it’s Simon Cowell. While his fellow “Britain’s Got Talent” judges were quick to call this mother-daughter quartet “stunning,” “mesmerizing,” and “brilliant,” Simon started out with a confession.

“Can I be honest with you?”he starts. “I’m thinking, ‘I don’t know why you, mum, are in the group.’â€

Then, after a dramatic pause, he adds, “And then you hit that note and I went, ‘Now I know why you are in the group.’â€

Helen, as it turns out, actually wasn’t supposed to be part of the act. Her daughters, Rachel and twins Anna and Abi, originally auditioned as a trio. But when they told the judges about their background in gospel music, that’s what they wanted to hear. But they only sing gospel with their mum, and suddenly there she was, singing her heart out in front of a national audience!

“I was just there to act as their chaperone, really, and I never imagined anything like this would happen,” Helen recalled.

And what a performance it was, with the four women singing Jesse Glynne’s “Take My Home” in perfect harmony, a skill they’ve perfected after years of singing together, but only as a family unit. You’d never guess this was their first time ever performing in front of an audience…

The Garnett Family’s story is even more dramatic when you realize the challenges Helen faced in the years leading up to the audition. Her husband left her nearly two decades earlier, when the twins were just six months old. That meant raising three young daughters by any means possible, which included stretching the food budget impossibly thin and relying on hand-me-down and thrift store clothes.
