You may remember Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass from this past season of America’s Got Talent. Better known as “The Clairvoyants,” the mentalist couple took Season 11 by storm, ending up in the top two, as runner up to 12-year-old singer Grace VanderWaal. This success made the duo the first mentalist act to make it that far in the show’s history!

The Clairvoyants stunned judges and viewers with every audition and performance. As the season continued, their tricks became more and more elaborate, incorporating lavish sets and costumes and (sometimes magical) props. But, in this performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, they are totally stripped down. It’s just Thommy, Amélie, Ellen, a mug, a dice, and a couple of books. But they still blow her mind!
They start out with a relatively simple (but still impressive) trick. They have Ellen roll a die, and then Amelie reads Ellen’s mind, somehow knowing what number she rolled.
It’s a cool trick, but it’s really just a warm-up for what they have next!
Thommy hands Ellen a book and asks her to find a word on the page. He plans to read her mind as Amelie did, telling her what word she chose. At first, it seems like he can’t get it right! But it turns out to all be a part of their plan… Ellen can’t get enough!
