"American Idol" has enabled some of the greatest pop singers of our time to ascend to stardom. Now, it seems they're poised to launch another talented performer into the stratosphere, and we're totally here for it!
Kenedi Anderson of Virginia grew up in a large family, and she's the lone musician in the bunch. At 17, she feels this is the perfect time for her to compete on the popular singing competition. She chose the Lady Gaga song "Applause" for her audition, and she really made the song her own. Accompanying herself on the piano, Kenedi's vocals were perfection, and she instilled a depth of feeling even missing in the original. As she performed, all three judges appeared jaw-droppingly shocked and thrilled by Kenedi's talent. They couldn't wait to praise her when she finished, with Katy Perry even quipping, "I'm feeling threatened!"
"I believe you might be the biggest star we've ever seen," Luke Bryan said. "No doubt, I believe, top 10."
"You were born to be a star," Katy agreed.
