Asking someone for their hand in marriage is a pretty big deal — that’s why it’s so important to do so at the perfect time and in the perfect place. That being said, sometimes, you just have to take any chance you can get. Take, for example, Leo Frankly. This 7-year-old is a massive fan of tennis star Emma Raducanu, someone he doesn’t get many opportunities to be in the same room with.
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking: But isn’t Raducanu too old for this kid? The answer, of course, is absolutely. But that didn’t stop this hopeful kiddo from formulating a plan to ask her anyway. That’s why, when he and his parents went to one of her games, he knew this was his shot.
From his elevated seat, and during a quiet moment of the game, little Leo confidently called out, “Emma, will you marry me?”
The crowd laughed as Raducanu looked around to spot the person who had asked her the question. She smiled, clearly just as amused as the rest of the crowd. While Leo may have been a bit disappointed she didn’t say yes, it seems that making her smile was more than enough to make him happy he chose to be so bold.
