Taylor Swift’s generosity knows no bounds! The superstar recently donated $1 million to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The money will be a huge help for those affected by the 13 reported tornadoes that ripped through the Nashville area on Saturday, December 9.

The organization’s CEO Hal Cato confirmed Taylor’s gift with CBS News and explained why the cause is close to the singer’s heart.

“The Swifts found their original Tennessee home nearly 20 years ago in Hendersonville and Sumner County, one of the areas hardest hit by this tornado,” he shared. “Taylor’s generosity has put a new spotlight on the devastation as well as the urgent need for help. It has also served as a powerful message to every survivor that she deeply cares about their recovery.”

The weekend storms devastated parts of Sumner and Montgomery County and left six people dead and dozens more injured. Over 100 families lost their homes, and nearly 1,000 have significant property damage.
