The best parents are the ones who truly revel in their children’s success. Last week, Dr. T-Shaka Coverson, the principal at McMurray Middle School in Nashville, Tennessee, was awakened from a nap by his 12-year-old son Kaiden for some incredible news. “Dad, I made the team,” the boy whispered. His wife Monica clarified, “He made the middle school basketball team.”
In a video, we see that as soon as the news fully hits him, T-Shaka leaps out of bed and chases after Kaiden to smother him with hugs and kisses. Monica giggles and follows them all the way upstairs into Kaiden’s room, where T-Shaka continues to celebrate with him. To make it even more exciting, it happens to be Kaiden’s birthday too!
