This Virtual “Sweet Caroline” Sing-Along Is So Good, So Good, So Good.

Neil Diamond has been cranking out hit songs since the early 1960s, but few of them are more beloved than “Sweet Caroline.” The masterpiece’s simple yet enduring lyrics are easy to remember, and we can never get enough of the chorus!

Since 2002, “Sweet Caroline” has been a staple of Boston Red Sox games, playing during the eighth inning of every Fenway Park match. In fact, if you’ve ever attended a sporting event in Boston, you’ve probably shouted the words along with a crowd of fellow fans. (Bah bah baaaah!)

Even though “touching hands” is currently a big no-no as we socially distance due to COVID-19, the Neil Diamond fan club wasn’t about to let a whole year go by without a good old-fashioned “Sweet Caroline” sing-along! Instead of coming together in stadiums and pubs, hundreds of people recorded themselves performing the iconic song. The clips were then edited together into one beautiful chorus!

Fans from all walks of life appeared in the video, many of them sporting Neil Diamond tour gear and playing instruments of their own. Seeing toddlers, grandparents, and everyone in between belting out the words reminds us how unifying music can be! Even when we’re forced to be apart, we can still find ways to come together.

Watch them sing “Sweet Caroline” in the video below, and be sure to share this story to make someone smile.
