Swanky Hotel Blocks Off Entrance to Protect Mama Bird & Her Nest

Ritz Carlton

It’s sometimes hard for humans to share with animals. With billions of people and millions of species of animals, there’s a lot of life on this planet, and sometimes the worlds combine. Recently, a mama bird began to build a nest on the door handle at the Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage, California. We all know that disturbing a nest can make things difficult for a bird and her eggs. Unfortunately, this bird chose a really inconvenient place for hotel guests, leaving the Ritz Carlton with a tough decision.

The Ritz-Carlton made a Bold Move

Instead of moving the nest, the Ritz-Carlton decided to lock the hotel doors and leave a sign for guests explaining the decision. The hotel chose to preserve nature and make guests walk a few more feet. It was a decision that made many people very happy.

Katelynn Bell told People she saw the sign at the hotel and felt compelled to share on social media. When she asked the Ritz-Carlton if this was unusual, she was pleasantly surprised by the response.

“I asked if it was something that happens regularly and they said yes. They even have a nature person on site that, literally, that’s what they care of,” she said. “They make sure that they have a nest, that no one’s harming it and that they make sure it’s first priority.”

Katelyn shared a viral video of the bird sitting on its nest, and people fell back in love with humanity.

“All are welcome to create unforgettable memories,” the Ritz-Carlton commented.

“These people have their priorities straight what business is this? I would support them just for them doing this !!” An impressed follower wrote.
