One of the greatest things about getting out of the city is heading into nature and really communing with the Earth and wildlife.
It just doesn’t get more peaceful than that, does it? The trees, the flowing creeks, the scurrying animals… But sometimes, the wilderness finds its way into the city, for better or for worse.
One case that was definitely for the better recently happened to a guy named Tom Bell, who lives in London. When Tom went up to lounge on his rooftop one day, he realized he definitely wasn’t alone. But don’t worry: His visitor was of the fuzzy variety, and it was clearly just there to chill!

A wild fox had made its way up to the roof just in time to catch the sunset. Fortunately, there was a blanket all laid out and ready for it! The cutie just wanted to have a snooze.

Of course, Tom had to tweet the entire encounter and share all that preciousness with the world. Can you blame him? People were obviously enthralled at the truly unbothered fox. According to the fortunate resident, the nugget got up there via fire escape.

A guy named Steve even played it some music to make sure the fox had the perfect summer evening!

So why was there a fox on a London rooftop? Was it some sort of fluke?
Nope! Fun fact: London is home to many foxes, but not all of them are this cute and fluffy. (Take it from me. Encountering a grimy, long-legged one in the dead of night in a London alley is a far less adorable experience.)

They’ve come to be called urban foxes and they began making themselves at home in London back in the 1930s when the city’s growth started encroaching on their natural territory. And they live in cities all over England, like Manchester. In total, there’s an estimated population of about 33,000 urban foxes in the country.
