If you’ve ever spotted one of these shells on the beach, odds are, it looked a lot dirtier than any you’ve seen being sold. Luckily, Paige was able to clean the conch shells she found all by herself. All she needed was some bleach and a little mineral oil. See the stunning before and after shots in the video below!

Marine Scientist Student Expertly Cleans Conch Shells and the Results are Stunning

If you’re unfamiliar with conch shells, you may be concerned about folks taking them. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to take these gorgeous shells home without negatively affecting our animal friends. First, you should never take a shell that has a living creature inside. Plus, it’s always safest to double-check if there are any laws in the area that would restrict what you can collect on the beach.

Conch shells like Paige’s are perfect for displaying in a home. That said, shells don’t even have to leave the beach in order to become beautiful works of art. If you’ve got the skills and patience, you can use all sorts of stuff on the beach to create images in the sand. And that’s exactly what this creative family did in a number of locations!
