Teachers Tricked Into Fake Interview, Then Students Surprise Them With Heartfelt Notes Of Gratitude.

In the video below, five teachers meet together for an interview discussing the difficulties of teaching. One by one, they each describe the challenge they feel to inspire students in, not just an academic way, but a personal one. “I spend more time with [my students] than I spend with my own family,” says one teacher. “When they mess up, the perfectionist in me takes it very personally” adds another.

Each of these five teachers feels pressure to make a difference in their students lives. To not just be a good teacher, but a good person. And each teacher describes having moments where they wonder… Am I doing enough?

That’s when their students step in.

“What? Are you kidding me?” says a teacher named Ms. Kooy when three of her 5th grade students suddenly crash the interview. Each one is holding a piece of paper in her hand, thank you notes. Ms. Kooy is in tears as the girls read their letters aloud.

Next there is Mr. Belou, a teacher and coach. “‘Winning at all costs,’ that’s every coaches motto.” a young man says to Mr Belou. “What made you more unique, is that you didn’t care about the wins, you wanted us to be better individuals day by day… Thank you for making me a better person and for never giving up on me, and for making me the man I am today.”

By the time the young man has finished his letter, Mr. Belou is in tears. But the tears only flow more as more students join him, thank you letters in hand.
