Students All Pitch In & Buy Perfect Gift To Cheer Up Teacher After Wife’s Miscarriage.

There are times in life when the students end up teaching us all a valuable lesson.

Matt Groark teaches health and physical education at Washington Township High School in New Jersey. He’s a young, energetic teacher who connects well with his students, and he never hesitates to share his life with them when they meet in class each day. Recently, Matt let the kids know that he and his wife were grieving.

The two have been trying to add to their family of their own for quite a while. Matt confided in his students that, unfortunately, his wife has had multiple miscarriages, recently suffering her fifth.

His students were moved beyond words, and they knew they had to do something to cheer up their much-loved and admired teacher and his wife. Knowing that Matt is a big fan of the Philadelphia 76ers, the teens pooled their money to buy two tickets to an upcoming game.

Matt was speechless and overwhelmed by their compassion. On his Twitter page, he called this act a “rare and touching combination of maturity, heart and compassion by these teenagers in a world where all eyes are on them!”

Thanks to social media, the good deed has begun to ascend to viral status, and now the students are hoping to create a snowball effect of good deeds.

Several students are now starting a fundraising effort to send Matt and his entire class to a basketball game, too.

Everyone who saw what these students did for their teacher has been touched in different ways. Hopefully, we will see more of this type of selfless good deed, thanks to teens like these.

What a perfect example of how each of us can be the good we want to see in the world! Way to go, students!
