When waitress Amber Bryant served a stressed mom sitting down at a restaurant with her kids, she had no idea how much her kindness would mean to the stranger. She also couldn’t have imagined that, in the near future, someone would repay her for the way she took care of this customer. All Amber knew was that this woman needed some help with her to-go boxes, and perhaps an encouraging word or two. When she provided both, it totally touched the struggling mother’s heart — so much, in fact, that the woman shared her experience in a Facebook post.

A couple of days later, a man entered the restaurant where Amber worked. He took the waitress aside and told her that he needed to speak with her. She didn’t know what this was going to be about, but she took a seat at his table. As it turns out, this stranger was there to repay the kindness that Amber had shown to the mom she served.
In a beautiful video on social media, this man praised the way that Amber handled the stressful situation. He told her that the mom she’d helped shared a post online about the wonderful waitress who had been so nice to her. However, the stranger wasn’t just there to talk about Amber’s kindness. He also had something for her: $800 in cash that he’d collected from other members of the community, as well as a number of generous gift cards to various stores.
This stranger repaid Amber’s kindness, and then some!
According to KAYU, the man in the video was none other than Rick Clark, founder of Giving Back Spokane. Between the cash and gift cards people had donated, the waitress walked away with $1,500 as a thank-you for her incredible kindness. Amber is also a mother, and this financial contribution apparently came just in time for one of her kids’ birthdays!
This waitress wasn’t looking for a reward when she helped out another mom in need. However, her kindness inspired local strangers to give out of the goodness of their hearts. Isn’t that amazing?
