Traveling with a toddler is not always a fun adventure. Most of the time, it is a disaster of poor timing, lack of nap time, boredom, and meltdowns. Flight delays and other pop-up issues can create havoc for even the most well-prepared parent. When Madison Mosley and her two-year-old experienced a maintenance delay, a wholesome stranger leaned across the aisle to save the day.

Madi’s daughter had been sleeping through most of their flights. She was wide awake during the maintenance delay and ready to go. Fortunately, the man in the seat across the aisle was a lifesaver. He paid attention to the toddler and kept her engaged in an impromptu game.
The wholesome stranger reached out to the toddler. She pulled away, giggling and squealing with joy. This brought a huge smile to his face, and the game was on. We don’t know how long the delay lasted, but the man played with the toddler and kept her occupied the whole time.
We have always heard the phrase, “It takes a village,” and sometimes it does. Parents with children are usually living on borrowed spoons. They are exhausted, lacking sleep, overworked, and totally spent. At times like that, it can be refreshing to get a one-minute break from everything.
The wholesome interaction between the stranger and her daughter gave Madi time to catch her breath. She could collect her thoughts, make a plan for when they arrive at their destination, and simply relax. Watching the interaction probably brought a smile to Madi’s face, too.
When another toddler experienced a delay, she began singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Surprisingly, many of the other passengers joined the impromptu sing-along.
