Stevie Wonder retirement

Stevie Wonder began his career at just 11 years old. Despite his inability to see, Stevie could play the piano like nobody’s business. Couple that with his singing and songwriting ability, executives knew they had a phenom on their hands. For more than 60 years, Stevie Wonder has used his talents to entertain millions. But as the 25-time Grammy Award Winner has gotten older, fans have wondered if and when he will slow down. Many other artists of his vintage have begun their farewell tours, which begs the question: Will 75-year-old Steve Wonder be next? According to the Motown legend, he has no plans to retire anytime soon.

Stevie Wonder Recently Opened Up About Retirement And His Future

According to Parade, Stevie Wonder told Sidetracked, “I’m not gonna stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body.”

Stevie added that his music is an integral part of who he is as a person.

“An artist doesn’t stop drawing, just because,” Stevie said. “You keep on. So as long as you can imagine, is as long as you are going to be creative. And as long as you let your mind work, you don’t have to retire.”

Earlier this month, Stevie Wonder had to address a bit of a strange rumor about his vision. According to Billboard, during a recent tour stop, he took the opportunity to talk about his sight.

“I must say to all of you, something that I was thinking, ‘When did I want to let the world know this?’ But I wanted to say it right now,” Stevie began. “You know, there have been rumors about me seeing and all that? But seriously, you know the truth.

“Truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind,” Stevie Wonder added. “Now, that was a blessing because it’s allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look. Not what color they are, but what color is their spirit?”
