In the world of broadcast news, some jobs are undeniably cushier than others.
Mark Woodley hosts a sports show on KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa, which usually involves arriving at the station during normal business hours and sitting inside a warm studio. He’s gotten pretty used to his routine, so when a massive weather system came through and canceled all of the sporting events in the immediate future, Mark was at loose ends.
Producers at the station took advantage of his free time by sending him out into the field… to report the weather! In a now-viral video, viewers see Mark’s marathon early morning session drag on for hours as he gets “progressively crankier and crankier.”
“I didn’t even realize that there was a 3:30 in the morning, actually, until today,” he quips.
“Can I go back to my regular job?” he says at last. “I’m pretty sure, Ryan, that you guys added an extra hour to this show just because somebody likes torturing me.”
